Facebook Holiday Fun
Make a ridiculous card and share it with some loved ones. Who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky!
Didn’t get what you wanted for ChristmaHanuKwanzakah? Well, maybe you should’ve given your friends and relatives some subtle reminders in this year’s holiday cards. Unfortunately, the rise of computers means that handwritten notes are a dying tradition, but this doesn’t mean your loved ones have to go without a holiday greeting from you.
Enter Samsung Holiday Wish List, an interactive app that gives users the power to superimpose themselves or their Facebook friends into different holiday-themed photos (read: Santa’s lap. oh, the possibilities…). The app lives on Samsung’s Facebook page; once a user logs in to the app, they’re able to access pictures from both their friends’ and their own accounts. Users are able to pick from various holiday themed photo templates, ranging from whimsical to hilariously ridiculous. Once a template is chosen, users can resize and position their faces within the template until it’s just right. More custom controls allow users to adjust the hue, saturation, brightness, and contrast of their face so that it blends in perfectly with the template.
Once your photo is perfected, you can move on to creating your holiday wish list (because let’s face it, who wants to be stuck with tube socks and underwear on Christmas morning) before sharing your custom holiday card via Facebook, twitter or email.
Sure, with the proliferation of digital everything, mailed holiday cards may soon become a thing of the past, but who says Santa doesn’t get email?
